What possible explanation can be used to justify this? Even according to the prosecution Lindh had nothing to do with the death of CIA spook, Johnny Spann. Everything about this whole situation reeks of scapegoating. The US is eager to have something to show for all the fireworks and made-for-tv crap when in reality they have done really nothing. If the Taliban are the cavemen/savages/women beaters you say they are why were they courted by our government for years? Believe this, our government has no problem with pedophiles, women beaters, drug dealers, or terrorists as long as they’re on OUR side. In Saudi Arabia, women are treated worse than in Afghanistan. The Taleban were real cozy with our government just like bin Laden, that murderer, was cozy with our government. Just like Hussein, and Kaddaffi were cozy with our government. It wasn’t until the Taliban backed off the oil pipeline plan that they got stepped on. The Bush administration gave the Taliban millions of dollars a few short months prior to 9-11. They were, in fact, shown around Houston a few months before 9-11 by Bush’s friends at Enron, so don’t give me this moral high-ground bullshit. That’s the problem.
