I tried to draw a picture from a photo of James Dean. It didn’t come out looking James Dean to me, but I need the practice. I’m trying to draw a little more all the time. I think in this case, the facial proportions or off leaving him looking a little like an eastern european James Dean. Ah well. I am liking drawing in larger original sizes with the prismacolor markers. It allows me to draw without worrying too much about mistakes or correcting things as you can be loose and still come out okay most of the time. In almost exactly a month (Sept. 30) it will have been 48 years since he died in a car crash.

While looking for photographs on the web I came across some James Dean quotations that I thought were good:
-
“If you’re not afraid…
If you take everything you are,
Everything worthwhile in you,
And direct it at one goal, one ultimate mark,
You’ve got to get there.”
“Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”
“The gratification comes in the doing, not in the results.”
“To grasp the full significance of life is the actor’s duty; to interpret it his problem; and to express it his dedication.
Being an actor is the loneliest thing in the world. You are all alone with your concentration and imagination, and that’s all you have. Being a good actor isn’t easy. Being a man is even harder. I want to be both before I’m done.”
“Only the gentle are ever really strong.”
i think the eyes look messed up too.
I think it looks kinda like Nicholas Cage.
Sure doesn’t look like James Dean.
*shrug* I don’t know, I figured out it was James Dean at first brief glance before looking at the pic to the side or the description.
You definitely have the lips and cheekbones right. Just my $.02
